Bethlehem Lutheran School News

From upcoming activities to amazing accomplishments and events, we’ll post all of the important BLS happenings right here on our News page. We may even give a helpful parenting tip or two. Check back regularly so you don’t miss a thing. We thank you for your support!

New Month, New Theme

Another month has passed, so we are ready for the next theme in our integrity program. The theme for October is really forgiving. The character trait is forgiveness and the associated Bible verse is from Psalm 85:2: “You forgave the iniquity of your people; you covered all their sin.”

In Need Of A Basketball Coach

We are looking for a boys basketball team coach and possibly an assistant coach for the upcoming basketball season. If you have an interest in helping out or if you have any questions, please contact Miss Stueve via email or at 582.5624.

Fall Fest 2018

Our annual fundraiser, Fall Fest, will take place on Saturday, October 20 at Howard Amon Park in Richland. Fall Fest is a run which includes a one-mile, 5K, and 10K course to accommodate all levels of runners/walkers. Included that day is fun family time with food vendors, bounce houses, games, and more!

We always need a lot of volunteers to make our event a success. There are several opportunities available. Please contact Sarah Flohr to ask questions or follow the instructions below to sign up. All volunteers receive a free volunteer shirt for helping.

  1. View our SignUp
  2. Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you would like.
  3. Sign up! It’s easy - you will not need to register an account or keep a password.

On Friday, September 21 we have our Quick Start assembly for the students. They will receive their pledge packets and find out the incentive prizes for this year. Watch for more information to come!

Substitute Teachers Needed

We are always looking for substitute teachers to have on our contact list for when teachers need to be gone or are sick. If you are interested in subbing or know of someone who would be, please contact the school office via email or by calling 582.5624 for more information. The process involves filling out an application and having a short visit with Miss Stueve, our principal.

Admissions Director

We are happy to announce that Mrs. Anna Noble has started as our new admissions director! Anna comes to us with a strong background in marketing, design, and networking. She is excited to share her passion for Bethlehem in welcoming families to BL. Stop in and say hi to Anna if you are in the building!

Drop Off/Pick Up Area

Our campus is a very busy place at drop-off and pick-up times. We ask that all drivers take extra care when dropping off and picking up your students. You can find the drop-off and pick-up maps/guidelines on page 25 of the parent/teacher handbook if you need a refresher. If you have any questions, please see Miss Stueve or any teacher. Please help keep our drop-off time safe by pulling forward to the curb beyond the crosswalk or to the sidewalk along the east field. Dropping off students in the handicap parking spaces or in the driveway creates significant backup onto 27th avenue and reduces visibility for our walkers. If you desire to come in with your child, please park in a parking space and walk in. You should not use cell phones and devices in our parking lot. Please do not park along the yellow painted section of the front sidewalk before, during, or after school. That section is for drop-off only and parents may utilize it if they are picking up Eagles’ Nest students after dark or in inclement weather. We thank you for helping keep our students safe - our number one concern and goal!
