experiences are afforded students in grades 6-8 to participate in a year-round athletic
program.
The girls may choose to participate in:

Bethlehem is presently a member of the Washington Interscholastic Activities
Association and the Mid-Columbia Middle School Interscholastic Activities Association.
Mid-Columbia League
- Membership in this association of middle schools in the Columbia Basin includes
competition for students in grades 6-8th in athletics, spelling, chess, math and speech.
Chess Club
- Chess Club is avialable to all students in K-8 plus interested parents, grandparents,
etc. They currently meet on Friday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 pm.
L.E.S.T.
- The Lutheran Elementary School Tournament (LEST) is an annual event hosted by Concordia
College in Portland, OR. Lutheran schools gather from all over the Northwest for
fellowship and competition Thursday to Saturday on President's Day weekend.
Supervised competition is provided in art, math, music, basketball, chess, knowledge
bowl, essay and spelling. Many families and friends make it a very special long
weekend that is looked forward to with much anticipation.
Special Programs
- During the course of a school year there will be a variety of special programs that
enhance the school experience. Choir concerts, Christmas services, musicals, Indoor
Olympics, science fairs, dessert theater, and Grandparent's Day are examples. Our
All-School Picnic, generally held near the last day of school, is held at Sacajawea State
Park where families are invited to come watch the games and share in the lunch.
